Composite
Products or Composite Packaging are used to designate
a combination of various materials whose individual
characteristics combine to create a material whose
properties are superior to those of its individual
constituents.
Corrugated
inserts are used primarily to support objects
and keep them in position during shipment.
Although corrugated fiberboard is relatively
inexpensive, corrugated inserts may be labor
intensive because workers must be trained to
place each insert properly. Inserts also crush
and, like other paper products, tend to absorb
moisture, which can weaken cartons and lead
to product damage. Also, when complex die-cut
inserts are used, labor and assembly can often
be expensive.
