EPERAN | CROSSLINK | POLYETHYLENE

Crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) foam is a special type of PE foam which is crosslinked either chemically or by radiation. It has many of the advantages of non-crosslinked PE foam, plus it is thermoformable, withstands high head, and due to its smaller cell size features low abrasiveness. For these reasons, XLPE is often favored by the military and the automotive industry. Density ranges are from 1 to 10 pounds pcf or higher. XLPE is perceived as more expensive than non-crosslinked PE, but for many specialized applications it may be cost-justifiable. Crosslinked PE is available in plank and rolled form.
